Wednesday, March 1st 8:30pm - $4
Phillip Bradley
A modern day pop crooner
One part Sinatra and one part Ben Folds is the best way to describe Phillip Bradley. In a city where, at times, the solo artists sound like weak impersonations of contemporary acts, Phillip Bradley brings a truly original and smooth style all his own.

Phillip honed his skills at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles before returning to his roots in Kansas City where he developed into the artist he is today. He recently signed with Hail Gatsby Records and immediately went into fourbigwatts studios with The Belles frontman Christopher Tolle producing Phillip's debut release "The Phillip Bradley EP". The record delivers a maturity so seldom found in young musicians. And has a songwriting style similar to artists such as: Billy Joel, and Bradley Knowell with a voice reminiscent of Harry Connick Jr. Phillip presents a sound wonderfully recreated live, and tastefully displays the voice of the classic crooner combined with the songwriting of this generation.

The February 2005 Offbeat from New Orleans says, "They whisk you back to two dollar pitcher nights and wet t-shirts contests." You can get a closer look at the band on their website, SweetPeasRevenge.com. The site offers press clippings and music as well as a calendar and pictures. Take a look at their new video on their EPK!

Deadstring Brothers
Bloodshot Records release show
The Litigators (closing)

The Deadstring Brothers "Starving Winter Report" Debut Bloodshot release! Smooth arrangements on the bottom, bitter-sweet storytelling on top. They've toured just about every pocket in the UK and have tackled the Midwest scene here in the States, sharing bills with bigwigs like the Sadies, My Morning Jacket, Cat Power and Jesse Sykes.

Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, the Deadstring Brothers are forging their own imprint far removed from anything remotely close to what we've been conditioned to expect from the Motor City. While their hometown counterparts follow Iggy Pop's footsteps so closely they're practically ripping the skin off his heels, the Deadstring Brothers' style embraces a sound from somewhere far beyond the Michigan state line.
