Little Mojo
(Folk/Rock duo from Des Moines, IA)
'LITTLE MOJO' is an acoustic pop/rock band hailing from Des Moines, Iowa. It combines the talents of two young brothers who have been creating music together since October 1998. Without any label support, they have sold over 8,500 copies of their three previous recordings and have toured extensively throughout the United States on various national tours over the past 4 years. Little Mojo has opened up for such artists as Shannon Curfman, Coolio, and Mason Jennings to name a few. Little Mojo's sound and style has been compared to the likes of Damien Rice, Ben Harper, Dashboard Confessional, and Dave Matthews. In late 2003 Little Mojo partnered up with New York City producer Chris Hower (Radford, Baja Men, Mutiny 2k Music) to record their first professional studio effort, the "Awake and Dreaming" EP. Key tracks on the EP such as Circles, Angel, and Not The Same reveal the depth of spirituality and sincere songwriting that is Little Mojo. Fronting Little Mojo is 27 year old Josh Sinclair. Since he was 11, Josh has made singing and playing guitar a huge part of his life. Josh is a multi-instrumentalist and tastefully incorporates new sounds to the bands songs. A powerful raspy, yet crystal clear voice rounds out the Little Mojo sound. Blending together his own imaginative style while staying deep within his creative roots, keeps Josh's love for the music as strong as ever. Nick Sinclair is the drummer, percussionist, and backing vocalist for Little Mojo. He is 23 years old and has dedicated the last 6 years of his life to playing drums in this band. He breathes life and rhythmic solidarity into the music of Little Mojo using the drumset, as well as the djembe, congas, and bongos. Nick's passion for drums and music can be seen and heard every time he picks up a pair of sticks or gets behind a microphone. His enthusiastic and exciting rhythms will always be an essential part of life and of Little Mojo.
